1. Notes and local storage
Notes, details, tags, reminders and places you enter, together with images and files you choose to add, are first stored locally on your device. If iCloud sync is off, the app does not transfer these records through its own iCloud sync feature. Local data is separated by iCloud account to reduce mixing when accounts change.
2. Optional iCloud sync
When you enable sync, supported note information and attachments are stored in your personal iCloud private database and updated across devices using the same iCloud account with sync enabled. The developer cannot view your personal private database through an app administration backend. Sync depends on Apple services, the network, storage space and system scheduling, and may not finish immediately.
Turning off sync does not automatically delete data already in iCloud. Use the app’s data management features if you wish to delete it. Deletion on iCloud and other devices depends on sync completing. Original recordings are not uploaded through FlashIdea’s CloudKit sync.
3. Microphone, recordings and speech recognition
The app requests microphone and speech recognition access when you use voice capture. Original recordings are kept in the relevant device’s local recording storage. Apple Watch recordings are transferred through paired-device communication to the paired iPhone for storage and transcription.
Transcription uses Apple’s system speech recognition service and first attempts on-device recognition. If the device, language or system does not support on-device recognition, or certain service errors occur, audio may be processed by Apple’s service. Recognition is not guaranteed to be entirely offline. Recognition requests may also include custom reminder phrases you set to improve recognition. Recoverable recordings may remain in drafts when recording or transcription is unfinished, so you can retry, play or delete them.
4. Location, images, files and notifications
The app requests a single location only when you choose Current Location, and may use Apple’s geocoding service to turn coordinates into place text. It does not continuously track location in the background. Places or coordinates are saved with a note and may sync with it if sync is enabled. Entering a place manually does not require location access.
You choose images and files through system pickers to attach them to notes. Notification access is used for reminders you set. You can revoke permissions in system settings. Denying a permission may affect the related feature without affecting unrelated basic features.
5. Lock Screen, widgets and other visible areas
When you enable the relevant features, pinned notes or reminders may appear on the Lock Screen, widgets, Live Activities, notifications or note wallpapers you set, where other people may see them. Manage displayed content, notification previews and device access for your circumstances. Text on an existing wallpaper does not disappear automatically when in-app settings change; update or replace the wallpaper if needed.
6. Purchases and Apple services
FlashIdea 1.0 is a paid download with all features in the current version included, without an additional subscription or in-app purchase. Apple App Store handles downloads, payments and refunds. The app does not ask for your Apple Account password, bank card number or payment password. Apple provides iCloud, speech recognition, geocoding and store services; their data processing is also governed by the Apple Privacy Policy and applicable system settings.
7. Retention, export and deletion
Use Data & Storage and Recently Deleted in the app to access, export or delete records. Recently Deleted usually provides a recovery period of about 30 days, and you can permanently delete records sooner. JSON backups include records and supported attachments, but not original recordings. Before uninstalling, clearing data or changing devices, make sure you have retained the content you need.
The app provides separate data management actions for this device and the current iCloud account. When sync is enabled, note and attachment deletions participate in sync. Changes on other devices and iCloud require sync to finish. You manage copies you export yourself.
8. Support requests and diagnostics
No additional app account is required. The current version has no ads, ad tracking or third-party analytics SDK, no developer-operated analytics or diagnostic upload service, and no feature that collects note content on the developer’s own servers. Apple processes diagnostic and service data provided under its system settings according to its own policies.
If you choose to contact support by email, we receive the email address, issue description and attachments you voluntarily provide, solely to handle your request. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information. The app does not automatically send us your note text or recordings.
9. Minors, your rights and policy updates
FlashIdea is a general-purpose note-taking tool. Minors should use it and manage system permissions with a guardian’s guidance. You can access, export and delete your content through app features, and revoke system permissions. For privacy or data rights requests, email chenguoao1@gmail.com.
